We did it – challenge complete!

Author: As you can see from the home page of the site, we completed the Three Peaks Challenge on the 1st and 2nd July 2010.
Unfortunately, due to a number of factors – not least of which was travel delays between mountains and poor weather on all three peaks - we did not achieve one of our aims – to complete in 24 hours.
However, we did complete. And for such a large main group (12 people) of differing ages and abilities we believe we have achieved what we really set out to do – the best we possibly could.
A second group of three, climbing and travelling independantly of the main group, had a slightly different adventure to the rest of us. We’ll let them tell their own story.

Been a privilege to support the Medway3Peakers, alongside Richard Lynn on a journey that has tested all concerned and culminated with the 12 strong group appearing out of the darkness, head torches blazing into the village of Llanberis.
Memories there undoubtedly are, individual and group challenges successfully overcome but without doubt PRIDE in an objective planned and executed in continuous good spirit, despite difficult environmental conditions, beyond the physical nature of the terrain.
To date with Gift Aid the combined fund raising from the website totals £1,344.62 and with other sponsorship £2,000 seems an objective that can be reached. A total well deserving of your efforts.

Well done everyone; I thought you would have a tricky day when I saw the forecast! The fact that you did not make it in 24 hours in now way undermines your achievement. To cover the best part of 25 hard mountain miles and approx 3000 meters of ascent in one trip in poor conditions is tough. I am quite envious!!! :O)
